Thank you for using Qbox for your QuickBooks, Word, Excel and PDF file sharing and collaboration requirements. We are happy to announce the release of the following features:

1. QuickBooks file copy

You can now use the QuickBooks file copy utility to locate QBW files on your local and network drives, and copy to a selected Qbox shared folder. Optionally, you can rename the QBW file at the previous location so it will not be opened by mistake. To launch this utility, go to ‘Preferences’ on your Qbox Explorer and select ‘Copy QuickBooks Files’.

2. Move Qbox location

You can move the Qbox folder to a different drive, including network drives, by selecting ‘Move Qbox Location’ under ‘Preferences’. After you initiate the move, please wait till the ‘Relocation complete’ message before opening any files. Please note that this option is disabled if any of the files is locked by you. These files have to be synced and locks released before move can be done.

3. Reinstall Qbox

You can change the account you used to setup Qbox on your PC by selecting ‘Reinstall Qbox’ under ‘Preferences’. Qbox will delete all the folders and files on your PC and prompt you to login with an email and password. Please note that this option is disabled if any of the files is locked by you. These files have to be synced and locks released before re-installation can be done.

4. Lock Mode: Auto or Manual

You can now set the Lock mode to Manual or Auto by choosing the option under ‘Settings’. In the Auto mode, the file will be locked automatically as soon as you open and login, provided the lock is available. In the Manual mode, Qbox will prompt you so you can decide whether to lock the file or not.

5. Read only option

Account owners can set a user to ‘Read Only’ mode for all the files in a shared folder. Users with read only option will not be able to lock the file or sync changes. To set the ‘Read Only’ option for a user, go to the Qbox Web Dashboard, click on the ‘Sharing’ icon for the folder and check the R/O box corresponding to the user.

Please contact Qbox support if you have any questions related to these features.
